If your pictures aren´t good enough...

…you are not close enough. That´s at least what Robert Capa, famous photographer from Hungaria once said. What he meant was not useing longer lenses, it´s meant that you physically get closer, to become more involved and intimate with your subject. To tell the truth that´s probably the hardest part in photography, at least for me. Nevertheless I always try to become better at it and challenge myself. I did so yesterday when I visited game #6 in the best of seven series where the local hockey club The Wolves of Freiburg played versus the Lions from Bad Tölz. What I tried is to show a slightly different angle, not standing on the side of the pitch being all involved on the stand getting close to the people. Here are some of the pictures I took. Some are really out of focus, but that´s life sometimes. I´m looking forward doing it again and again to get satisfied with the results one day, always the words of Capa in my mind. Oh, and sadly the EHC Freiburg lost in the third overtime, the longest overtime in history of the second german hockey divison. Game seven on Sunday will bring the decision.
