Another week another task...

…this time it´s all about flying a drone. First of all I have to admit that I´m one of those lucky guys owning a small little drone for what I´m still really thankful for cause it´s a wonderful tool. After one week off at Coach Ripke the game goes on. Actually it wasn´t really a week off, it was more like a test on how proactive the participants are, but let´s go on with this weeks task.

Shoot a one minute video flying your drone, telling a story and use just one take, all in 9×16. That´s pretty much summed up what this weeks task was all about. Once Paul published the task some of you wrote me messages like, „hey man this task should really suit you…“ as they probably already have seen some of my drone videos. To be honest it´s not that easy. For me the challenge was to film just one smooth take without any cuts, speeding up, etc.. I´ve done shots like these in the past but wanted to create somethning new as it still should challenge me. First thing I did was searching on YouTube for Videos like this but didn´t really found what I was looking for so I had to trust on my own experiences. The first attemp failed because of the circumstances at the planned location. There was a heavy storm going on with up to 8 bft. wind so no flying! What to do when you fail? Correct, try it again or try somethnig different. I did the last one and failed again. My initial plan was to film myself skating it worked well until a certain point cause skating while flying and filming and the other way round was way too dificult, at least for the one minute one take I had in mind not only following myself with the drone. To cut a long story short I came back to idea number one and gave it another try on another day and it worked out! Here´s my result, simple but fun! Also I´m still ambitious about the skating thing so stay tuned! As always I would love to here what you think as well as I´d like to see what you guys did so feel free to comment or write me a message here or on Instagram.
