I tried to catch a vibe...

…with my photos when I went to the local carneval celebration today. At this time of the year all over Germany and around the world people celebrate carneval in all different kind of ways. I´m not really into it and not sure about the tradition, but to sum it up it´s mainly celebrated to scare the winter away at least on the one hand. On the other hand it´s the best reason to party a few days and drinking a lot of alcohol. That´s at least all I know. In the southwest of Germany the so called Narrenzünfte (costumed groups) walking through the streets yelling, playing music, throwing confetti and candy while the spectators look at them and the kids try to collect as many candy as they can get.

People are getting crazy on these few days of the year, they´re wearing handmade costumes and wooden masks, they´re travelling from town to town because there are processions everywhere. That´s pretty much all I know about this part of german culture and as I wrote in the beginning I tried to catch the vibe of this festivities. Here are my photos and as always I´d love to hear your thoughts on this, do you celebrate carneval, did you also take photos or what are you thinking of the one I took?! Let me know!
